Gear Review: Canon C300 Dual Pixel Cinema Camera

With the advent of DSLRs, many videographers just don’t know what they are missing by not using a ‘big boy’ camera like the C300.  One of the more practical features it possesses is dual XLR inputs so you don’t have to sync audio in post.  Likewise, it can push phantom power to your microphones.  The sensor itself is a gorgeous super 35mm CMOS.  If you are performing a corporate interview, filming television, product shoots, or really any other application, this cinema camera will have your back.  Check out this Budweiser commercial that Seek First Productions helped staff, which was shot primarily on a C300 (paired with a couple C100s).

Other benefits of using the C300 over a DSLR include: focus peaks, zebras, ergonomics, advanced scene profiles, dual recording slots, much much more, and of course – it will impress your client.
